Effective date: 13.07.2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Capymapa («Capymapa,» «we,» «us,» or «our») collects, uses, and protects information when you use capymapa.com and related services (the «Service»).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Contact details, such as your name and email address, if you create an account, subscribe to updates, or contact us.
- Information submitted by local businesses applying for or managing a listing (business name, address, photos, description, contact details).
- Content you choose to submit, such as reviews, ratings, or messages.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data, such as pages viewed, features used, and time spent on the Service, collected through cookies and similar technologies (e.g. Google Analytics or comparable tools).
- Approximate or precise location data, if you grant permission, used to show nearby points of interest, routes, and relevant listings. You can disable location access at any time through your device or browser settings.
- Device and browser information, such as IP address, device type, and browser type, used for security, analytics, and improving the Service.
Information from payments: Payments for Premium Features are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, our payment provider and merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment card details and billing information directly; we do not receive or store your full card number. Paddle may share limited transaction information with us (such as your email, purchase date, and product purchased) to allow us to provide the Service to you.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including map features, listings, and currency/route information;
- Process payments and manage subscriptions for Premium Features;
- Communicate with you, including responding to inquiries and sending service-related notices;
- Analyze usage patterns to improve content, features, and user experience;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, analytics providers, mapping providers (e.g. Mapbox), automation tools (e.g. Make.com), and our payment processor (Paddle).
- Affiliate and booking partners, only in aggregate or as necessary to process a referral (for example, when you click through to a partner site such as a booking or insurance provider); your interaction with that partner is then governed by their own privacy policy.
- Legal and safety purposes, if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users or the public.
- Business transfers, if Capymapa is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, and support analytics and, where applicable, affiliate tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Business listing information is generally retained for as long as the listing remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email below. We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
Because the Service and our providers operate internationally, your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place with our service providers.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
