Description

At a Glance

Underwater World Pattaya is a fully air-conditioned indoor aquarium featuring a massive glass tunnel—making it the perfect refuge from the blistering afternoon heat.

Place Description

This aquarium is a lifesaver for families with kids when the Pattaya streets start to sizzle. Inside, the blasting A/C keeps things comfortable, and the main draw is a 100-meter-long acrylic tunnel. Reef sharks and rays glide right over your head, providing a fantastic backdrop for photos. It’s located right on the busy Sukhumvit Road, making it a highly convenient pit stop on your way to Jomtien Beach or when heading back from the city’s southern attractions.

However, reviews are mixed, and the reality is a bit more worn down than the glossy brochures suggest. Some of the displays feel tired, and tanks are occasionally closed for maintenance without warning at the ticket counter. Many visitors note an abundance of common freshwater species, like koi and catfish, while the jellyfish zone is hit-or-miss. On top of that, large tour groups are dropped off regularly, which can quickly lead to human traffic jams inside the narrow glass tunnels.

Why visit

A 100-meter-long 180-degree glass tunnel offering up-close views of sharks and rays
Blasting air conditioning makes it an ideal escape from the midday sun
Great indoor entertainment for toddlers and kids who love marine life

Insider tips

💡 Never buy tickets at the door; walk-up rates are nearly double. Book online in advance to secure a massive discount.

💡 Be prepared for some tanks to be empty or under renovation, especially the jellyfish exhibit.

💡 Feeding shows are rare and irregular, so treat this as a casual walk-through rather than a full-day spectacle.

💡 Watch out for tour groups; the narrow tunnels can get incredibly noisy and crowded when buses arrive.
