Description

This is arguably the most famous viewpoint in Pattaya, located on Khao Phra Tamnak, just a stone’s throw from the Big Buddha statue. By day, you’ll find the iconic view of the city and bay that graces many postcards. Tour groups flock here, making it bustling during the day. However, come evening, the atmosphere shifts; the heat fades, offering a perfect sunset viewing spot, and by night, the city lights twinkle below, providing a peaceful retreat.

Despite being a top attraction, it has its downsides. During the hot season, it can be sweltering with limited shade. Additionally, an abandoned skyscraper mars part of the panorama. Nevertheless, it’s an iconic landmark that gives a fantastic perspective of the city’s scale. Nearby, there’s a small shrine and a café for a quick break.

Insider tips

💡 Be prepared for the perfect 180-degree view to be slightly obstructed by the skeleton of an abandoned high-rise; find the right angle to avoid it in photos.

💡 The spot isn't suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues, as reaching the best photo spot requires descending quite steep steps.

💡 During sunny weather, there's a risk of heatstroke, so bring water and hats as there's little shade.

💡 There's parking available, but it fills up quickly at sunset; bikes have an easier time finding space.
