Description
This isn’t a traditional temple complex; rather, it’s a sprawling, immaculately maintained park at the foot of a cliff, where a 109-meter-high Buddha silhouette is filled with solid gold leaf. The atmosphere is more solemn and architectural than deeply religious. The site is a popular stop for tour groups and independent travelers alike, all arriving to snap that perfect photo. Khao Chee Chan Buddha sits just outside the city center, neighbors with the scenic Silverlake Vineyard and Ramayana Water Park, making it an easy add-on to a day trip.
The primary draw is the sheer scale of the cliffside, which looks particularly stunning under the golden hues of sunset. On the flip side, there isn’t much to do beyond admiring the cliff and walking the grounds; a visit rarely exceeds 30–40 minutes. The park is entirely open-air with very little shade, meaning the midday heat can be punishing. Despite being a major tourist attraction, the park is so large that it rarely feels uncomfortably crowded.
