In its heyday, this complex was a bustling hub filled with tourists flocking to cabaret shows and wandering along manicured canals. Today, most pavilions stand empty, plaster is peeling from the timber-framed facades, and the water has long since drained from the channels. The famous complex has transformed into a bizarre monument to developer ambition. Located directly on the busy Sukhumvit Highway across from the massive Ambassador City Jomtien hotel, thousands of commuters pass by daily, oblivious to the eerie, quiet decay hiding behind those once-vibrant European shopfronts.
For many, this spot serves as a perfect escape from the standard, crowded tourist trails and an opportunity for truly unique photography. A handful of local expats and urban explorers visit for the haunting, faded aesthetics, and because the grounds remain open to the public. The only remnants of activity are a few small cafes near the entrance and the occasional shop clinging to life.
